100 Community Comfort Bears Ready to Make a Difference

100 Community Comfort Bears Ready to Make a Difference

When I first came up with the idea of Community Comfort Bears, I hoped they could become more than just cuddly toys. I wanted each bear to offer a little comfort to a child going through a difficult time, while also giving local businesses and organisations an opportunity to make a genuine difference within their community.

I’m now incredibly excited to share that the first 100 Community Comfort Bears are ready to find their new homes and bring comfort to children who need it!

A Very Special Sponsorship

This amazing batch of 100 bears has been generously sponsored by Redditch Round Table.

As a relatively new small business, receiving their support has meant so much to me. However, the most important part is what their contribution will mean to the children who receive the bears.

One hundred bears means one hundred children will have something soft to cuddle, hold and hopefully find a little comfort in when they need it most.

Each bear wears its own specially designed Community Comfort Bear T-shirt, with details of the sponsor printed on the back. This means the organisation that made the donation possible is recognised, while the focus remains firmly on bringing comfort to local children.

Where Will the Bears Go?

The bears are currently waiting patiently to discover where they will be heading!

Dotty Moo and Redditch Round Table will be sharing more information about the organisations receiving the bears, so follow @dottymoouk on Facebook and Instagram to follow their journey.

Wherever they land, I hope every bear brings a smile and reminds its new owner that somebody in their community is thinking about them.

More Than Just a Bear

A teddy bear might appear to be a simple gift, but for a child experiencing illness, bereavement, family difficulties, anxiety or another challenging situation, it can become something much more.

It might be:

  • Something familiar to hold in an unfamiliar place
  • A comforting bedtime companion
  • A little friend to talk to
  • A reminder that somebody cares
  • Something that belongs entirely to them

We cannot take away everything a child may be facing, but sometimes a small gesture of kindness can still make a meaningful difference.

Bringing Local Businesses and Communities Together

The Community Comfort Bear initiative is designed to connect local businesses, community groups and organisations with the children and families who may benefit from their support.

Sponsors fund a batch of bears, which can then be donated to a chosen school, charity, hospital, support service or community organisation. Sponsor details can be added to the back of the bears’ T-shirts, providing recognition for the business or organisation that made the donation possible.

It is a lovely way for businesses to give something tangible back to their community, while helping children feel cared for and remembered.

Thank You, Redditch Round Table

A huge thank you must go to Redditch Round Table for believing in the Community Comfort Bear initiative and sponsoring the first 100 bears.

Producing 100 bears has certainly kept us busy, but seeing them all together and knowing that every one of them will soon belong to a child makes all the hard work worthwhile.

This is only the beginning of their journey, and I cannot wait to share where they go next.

Could Your Organisation Sponsor Community Comfort Bears?

I would love to work with more businesses, charities and community groups to bring Community Comfort Bears to children who need them.

Sponsorship can be arranged for different quantities, and I can work with you to create an appropriate T-shirt design featuring your business or organisation’s details. You may already have a particular school, charity or organisation in mind, or we can discuss possible recipients together.

If your business or organisation would like to learn more about sponsoring Community Comfort Bears, please get in touch with Dotty Moo.

Together, we can send a little more comfort and kindness out into our communities, one bear at a time.
